Empowered exploration of your inner world through therapeutic astrology and dreamwork.

Recently, as a friend and I were enjoying a quiet convo-and-cocktail, we were unexpectedly treated to scores of dragonflies sparkling in the late afternoon sunshine as they circled the backyard beside the crepe myrtle tree.

Today, after meditating on the element of air, I went outside to ground myself and was delighted to see that the dragonflies had returned. I looked up to see white clouds drifting lazily across the azure sky; dragonflies flitted as I felt the cool evening breeze caress my skin.

Natural magick.

And, engaging in another airy pursuit, I logged on and researched the wisdom of the dragonfly at Shamanism – Working with Animal Spirits. One of the teachings of dragonfly is understanding dreams. Cool.

  1. Beautiful, Aello πŸ™‚

Since that evening I’ve seen single dragonflies at least once a day, but never again in such abundance. Today, I saw one while visiting the place where my paternal grandmother’s ashes were scattered. It made me very happy.

The Shamanism site mentions that dragonflies are connected with dragons. Now, my Dad was born in the Chinese year of the Dragon, but, more than that, I always think of him as a Dragon. So for me, I wonder if it is a message from/about my Dad. Or perhaps even related to that side of my family. It’s all interesting to ponder on, anyway πŸ˜‰

  2. That is cool. It must be significant that the dragonflies were there for both of us simultaneously. My Dad loves dragons – supports the St George NRL team, has some figurine/statues etc. Is the whole dad/dragon connection a coincidence? No, I don’t really believe in them…
